The New York State Leadership Group and PLC Associates, headquartered in Rochester, combined their resources to complete an application to be designated as an Independent Receiver under SED guidelines.
Robert W. Christmann, New York State Leadership Group Executive Director, has been elected as the 2019 President of the National School Development Council (NSDC). Bob has served on the Board of Directors for six years prior to his second election as President.
The New York State Leadership Group, in April 2019, completed a Personnel Needs Assessment related to the following instructional programs:
- Music (K-12)
- Art (K-12)
- Foreign Language (7-12)
- Technology (7-12)
- Family and Consumer Science (7-12)
Following her retirement on January 1, 2020, Barbara A. Battaglia has agreed to become a NYSLG consultant. Barb is currently the Director of Data Research, Accountability, Assessments, CIO and Central Registration for the Kenmore-Tonawanda UFSD.

The Board of Directors of the Niagara Frontier Industry Education Council seeks a highly qualified leader to be its Executive Director. The search process will be completed by September 1, 2019.
Robert Christmann is assisting the NFICE Board of Directors with the selection process.
On Thursday, March 21, 2019, the New York State Leadership Group co-sponsored a School Safety Conference on the campus of SUNY Buffalo. With a participation number of nearly 1500, attendees were updated by the United States Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center on the latest practices involving creating higher levels of school security.
The Board of Education of the Pocantico Hills Central School District located in Westchester County, New York seeks a highly qualified leader to be its Superintendent of Schools. Robert W. Christmann is assisting the Pocantico Hills Board of Education with the selection process.

On October 22, 2018 the Pocantico Hills Central School District Board of Education selected the New York State Leadership Group to lead its search process. The New York State Leadership Group was chosen from several educational firms which completed responses to Request for Proposals regarding the open search process.
The New York State Leadership Group has been requested by the Lackawanna City School District to complete a comprehensive study of its Special Education Program. Serving as the New York State Leadership Group consultant for this work will be Dr. Timothy O’Neill, retired New York State BOCES and District Superintendent.
In mid-April of 2018, New York State Leadership Group Executive Director Robert Christmann was requested by the Mt. Markham Board of Education to facilitate a workshop on BOE-Superintendent relations and roles/responsibilities.
